Hepatitis Research Foundation
Resource type: Hepatitis Organizations
Location: United States ,New York
Website: http://www.heprf.org
About Hepatitis Research Foundation:
The Foundation plans to raise funds to support research into the treatment of chronic hepatitis C (HCV) and hepatitis B (HBV) infections by immunotherapy, and development of a vaccine for HCV. The foundation has broadened its activities to include the prevention and treatment of AIDS, as co-infections between HIV and HCV are now found in about 50% of all AIDS patients in the U.S. The depression of the immune system by HIV accelerates the development of cirrhosis due to HCV. Thus most AIDS patients are now dying of HCV induced liver disease.
